Booked this some time ago for Friday and Saturday nights, and amazed to find mine was the only room booked this weekend ! The place is pretty much unmanned, entry by code and access to room key by another code, but all went smoothly. Clean, warm and comfortable room, ample hot water, and a reasonable continental self service breakfast set out each morning. Nothing to gripe about, I’d stay again.

We had a very good 2 night stay at the Bryn despite the wet weather. Our bedroom was comfortable, a superior mountain view and we were pleased the double glazing was very effective. Breakfast was just like home: yoghurt, berries, muesli, oat milk etc. We brought in takeaway food each evening and enjoyed it downstairs in the spacious dining area. Neil helped with our planning. On the extremely wet day he suggested the track opposite Cafe Saibod, which is just 100m away. We had a circular walk, came back to the warm Inn, and put all our dripping wet gear in the drying room. The following day Neil told us about the bus which stops right outside the Inn, just 10 mins to Pen-y-pass, and we were able to leave our car in the Bryn carpark. So all in all a very comfortable and convenient place to stay! I must also mention the cosy wood fire Coop lit for us at breakfast time on the very wet morning. I enjoyed several cups of the freshly brewed filter coffee beside the fire.

Staff and owners are especially friendly and could not have done more to make this hotel the perfect refuge from mountain days and life’s bustle. Drinking and dinner at the nearby Plas-y-Brenin centre is delicious, excellent value and a just the buzz one used to get from the hotel bar / restaurant (without the disturbance to your peace as a resident at Bryn Tyrch!)

My boyfriend and I stayed here after hiking snowdon, before returning to the coast the day after. Our bed was soooo comfy for our tired legs and our bathroom was modern and very clean with were fresh, white, fluffy towels 😍.
Our dinner and breakfast were delicious, the location was ideal, self check-in was seamless (you’ll receive an email on the day of checkin with more info) and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The interiors were a lovely country cosy style, especially the snug which boasted lots of board games and armchairs.

The rooms were absolutely spotless, and we couldn't fault the cleanliness and comfortable nature of the rooms. It was a little disappointing that water in the room was not topped up between nights, and there was no opportunity to get new mugs for the room tea/coffee- but additional tea/coffee was available on the landing area, and towels could be changed at guests request.
The guests area was well kept, and there were plenty of games - it was just cold, lacking in heating.
The slight disappointment was the breakfast - the continental was very limited, and the hot food was distinctly average (though pleasing to see vegan options). It doesn't need much improvement here, but has an Inn in a walking area, I thought there could be slightly more choice for the continental.

We wanted a twin room as a base for our walking weekend and couldn’t have found a better place to stay. Access to the restaurant and bar downstairs for dinner was very convenient, and the room was clean, comfortable and well presented. The location has fantastic views and is well situated for access to the local peaks in Snowdonia. Mobile reception with EE and Vodafone was surprisingly fast in the hotel (45Mbps download on 4G) and there is free WiFi throughout the premises. The weather was very wet during our stay, but there was a drying room to hang up our wet gear, which was very welcome. Parking spaces are available across the road and there is a fantastic cafe just a two minute walk which serves breakfast. All-in-all, a very comfortable and well situated location - would highly recommend and will definitely be returning in the future!

I stayed with my daughter for three nights at the end of November and we both really enjoyed our stay. It's a great little hotel with lovely rooms, very clean and really friendly helpful staff. We were there while storm Arwin blew through bringing power cuts to the area, yet the staff were great going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and still managing to supply a decent breakfast with hot drinks.
Keep up the good work, we will definitely be back.

We chose based upon location. Our room was perfect for what we needed and everything was clean and worked. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was the continental breakfast. Firstly they seemed to run out of everything that we wanted (brown bread, yogurts). You needed to time the trips to breakfast carefully as it is served in a room that only has a few tables. .

Accommodation was great. Room very clean and comfortable.
Very disappointing that this place no longer has a pub style menu offering. Only restaurant menu - which seeks to be more aligned to fine dining. Strange that when in bar for drink and asking for crisps-nuts we were told that “we don’t sell them, we are a restaurant “.

General
We stayed here for 2 nights in September. We booked through booking.com; the cost was £269 for a standard room. Our dog was able to stay for £15. I think it would have been cheaper to book directly which is what I would do next time. There is easy free parking. WiFi is free and good. The hotel is situated directly on the A5 which was very busy during our stay. The overall location is incredible -right in the heart of Snowdonia…Close to places like Betws-y-coed and Beddgelert and the most fantastic walks.
The hotel itself is a beautiful building with nice attention to detail and classy internal decor. There is a nice lounge on the ground floor which I was able to relax in with no one else present…
Re Covid-19, staff do not wear masks (in line with current government decrease in restrictions). Sanitiser is available. Tables in the restaurant are well spaced out.
The first room we were given (room 5) was pleasant but I would say small. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was clean with lots of good quality bed linen and towels. The problem was that it was hot, meaning that windows needed to be open. The traffic noise from the road was then very intrusive. To the point that I found it very hard to sleep on the first night.
I discussed this with Menna (sorry if spelling wrong) after breakfast the next day, Menna was delightful (such a peaceful, calm person ????) and immediately went about trying to find a solution. After ringing the boss, our room was changed to an amazing room (room 11) which was at the back of the building and therefore had no traffic noise. It was actually a suite, with a separate lounge (with a second double sofa bed) and a much larger bathroom. We were extremely happy there and very grateful to the staff for facilitating he change.
Again the beds were very comfortable.
Breakfast was a little restricted (due to staff shortage from COVID?). If you wanted a hot meal, there were bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, vegetarian sausages, toast and tomatoes. (Notably no eggs). There were also cold options -cheese, cured meat, yoghurts, cereal etc. Coffee was fresh and plentiful!
It was nothing fancy but filled a hole. I wouldn’t return for the breakfast alone, if I am honest.
Overall, we really liked this hotel, except for its position on the A5. It is possible that when we stayed his road was busier than normal, given the number of staycations going on through Covid…

I stumbled across this B&B on booking.com as I changed the dates for my trip and am so glad I booked to stay here. It’s a lovely clean, cosy little place to stay. My double room was small but cosy and had everything I needed - mainly a comfortable bed to sleep after hiking during the day. Add to that, tea/coffee AND biscuits in the room! And a clean crisp bathroom with powerful shower.
The owners Neil and Rachel were so polite, friendly and accommodating. Jack and Cooper made my stay so enjoyable. They were so friendly and welcoming and accommodating too.
The breakfast was a good choice of hot and cold food but I must say, I missed eggs! Evening meals were limited due to kitchen closure but again, was enough for me to refuel after a days hiking when I didn’t have the energy to venture out for food.
There was a communal lounge downstairs and a smaller break out area upstairs too which was nice to just retreat to if I got fed up of my bedroom!
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be returning again.

We stayed in the Bryn for two nights at the beginning of August and had a lovely time. It is worth noting that COVID restrictions in Wales are a bit different from what we are used to, which coming over from England I don't think we fully realised. This obviously impacts on what they can provide as the restaurant is currently closed so it was a different experience from when we have visited in the past. Despite this Rachel and the team were fantastic and did everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms were clean and as always well presented, and the new Snowdon Room for guests to relax in is great. We really enjoyed sitting there, using the new honesty bar, and watching the sun set on the mountains. The continental breakfast was good too, with plenty to choose from, including a few cooked items so we could set off on our day of walking with a bacon sandwich. Overall, it was a difference experience from what we expected but credit to the team for doing everything they could to make our stay enjoyable, comfortable and memorable. We will definitely be back.

The room was lovely, really comfy bed and nice big bath, great for a soak after that long walk/climb! We would both highly recommend the Bryn Tyrch Inn and hopefully will be back at some point.

A great base to explore the Snowdonia area. We had a nice quite room facing the back of the hotel.
We stayed for two nights, the room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a comfy king sized bed.
The inn gets busy from residents and passing trade. Excellent food and a good selection of drinks with a couple of well kept local ales.
One slight issue, on the first day the hot water was only tepid, although this was quickly resolved.
We will be exploring Snowdonia again and will look to stay here again.

We stayed in the luxury en-suite family room which was well appointed and comfortable. We had a little issue with a lack of hot water for the bath but this was rectified within a couple of hours. Although the tables were clean, we did find them rather sticky to touch, so much so it took a little effort to move the placemats. Additionally, we thought that the set menu was rather limited. However, that said, the lamb crackling is a delicious and highly recommended ‘nibble’ and we chose our main meals from the ‘specials board’ each night and the these were very good indeed. The packed lunch for our hike was very good, however, a slight disagreement with the manager (owner?) over the lack of a bottle of water slightly spoiled matters. The water was mentioned on the menu “to keep you hydratedâ€, however is wasn’t included in the pack. We were told that Welsh National Parks had banned premises from supplying water bottles because of littering. This doesn’t appear to be quite correct; Welsh National Parks are running an initiative in conjunction with business to provide water refill points, there is no ban on selling bottled water itself. It was an irritating excuse that slightly spoilt the end of an otherwise very pleasant stay.

Delicious evening meal with a good choice of gins! Breakfast was ok but not as good as restaurant meal. Breakfast choice was quite limited and disappointed with no pastries, fruit, granola, yoghurt. Cooked breakfast fine but bacon quite fatty and not very crispy and poached egg over cooked. Our room was lovely and spotlessly clean - huge bathroom (took advantage of the huge bath and had the best bubble bath I’ve ever had!). Shower was ok but pressure quite slow. Everything about the hotel was perfect. It felt cosy and welcoming. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms. We would definitely return and recommend this hotel. Our weekend was everything we hoped it would be. Loved it!

I have been a regular guest of the Bryn Tyrch since 1996. Since then I have seen the Bryn transformed from a very rough and ready place to stay and eat, into a tastefully refurbished hotel. Rachel and Neil have been attentive attentive hosts since they took on the Bryn. They continue with incremental and subtle improvements which add to the overall warm ambience.
The food remains tasty, generous and satisfying. The current wines are good examples of their varietal.
For those visitors seeking a friendly and intimate hotel in a stunning location close to many of Snowdonia's most iconic peaks, it is somewhere to be strongly recommended. There are many excellent walks and trail runs which can be accessed and enjoyed directly from the hotel.
It remains my favourite place to stay in this part of North Wales.

The only disappointment was the breakfast. We ordered traditional English which was not cooked to order - the bacon and sausage very dry and the egg solid.

We stayed for two nights in September.
Initially when shown the room we thought it was very small and also cold as the window had been left open so we had moths on the bed and in the room. However once sorted the bed was very comfy with a warm duvet and excellent pillows. The bathroom looked new and to a good standard. Shower was very hot which is always a relief when staying away.
We were the room next to the staircase and unfortunately several guests decided to leave at 5am who were very loud slamming doors and running up and down the stairs.
All of the food is to a good standard and served piping hot. Large selection of drinks. I thought prices were very reasonable. Parking is great and very easy. Happy to come back in from a rainy day to find cake had been left after making up the room. Would stay again.

We have stayed before and look forward to coming again. We recommend the Bry Tyrch to others too. It is so clearly a family business and not part of a chain. Please just remember the little touches eg formally the cake in the room was in a glass jar not just in a folded over plastic bag. Also, the veg breakfast looked a little sparse on the plate. The food is superb and you always seem to find very polished and professional staff. We love the decor of the place and the smell of coffee as distinct from that typical 'pub' smell.

Having just fled the tourist hordes of Bettws y Coed, it turned out to be a great find. Very comfortable and clean rooms and equally comfortable lounge areas in the pub. All to often the problem with staying in more remote areas is that you have to make do with substandard food, not here, the food was excellent and frequently changing daily specials mean there's always something new on the menu. The beautiful view of the river in front of the building and the mountain in the background just add to the pleasure. The hosts and staff are very welcoming and I can't recommend it to highly.

Evening meals were tasty, and good quality and the bar well stocked. We particularly liked that a table was reserved for us just in case, without us having to ask. It was very chilled and relaxing. I think the hotel suffers a little of an identity crisis - part boutiquey, part country and part cafe (fake flowers on the tables, squeezy bottles of sauce)but that said we enjoyed our stay immensely. The breakfast could be better - the serving of a fresh pot of tea rather than an urn although minor would make all the difference. And fresh cooked bacon and eggs. A little more effort needed there. However, overall it was a great place and we would happily return.

Our breakfast was cooked to order and always really well presented and tasty.
The bar and reception staff were always friendly and helpful. They are very hardworking and conscientious.
We also enjoyed an evening meal on two of our three nights. The food is always of a high standard.
The Bryn Tyrch is an ideal location for people visiting the north of the Snowdonia National Park. Pen-y-Pass car park at the foot of Snowdon is only a 10 minute drive, as is Tryfan and the Ogwen Valley, just along the A5. Betws-y-Coed is about the same travel time, back down the A5.

Food really varied and well presented, which I believe accounted for the restaurant being full on an evening in mid September.

We have just spent our anniversary weekend at Bryn Tyrch and had a lovely peaceful stay with them.
We walked to Swallow Falls which are about 3miles away following the river through the wooded and open countryside areas to see the better view of the falls from the woods side, this took us about 4 hours in total and is quite steep and boggy at times but well worth it if you like walking, there are plenty of other walks around the area as well with a walkers cafe just 1-200m along the road.
We also went to Zipworld which is just 20minutes drive up the A5.
Good selection on the bar and nice selection of food available, the menu on the website is more of a guide as this changed on both days we were there.
Well worth a stay

We stayed at Bryn Tyrch as two couples as we were all doing Zip World and this is well located mid way between Titan & Velocity. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and, after dumping our stuff in our bright, fresh, clean and modern rooms, we got comfortable in the sofas by the fire in the bar chatting to Neil and Rachel the owners. Hubby was impressed as they had two local real ales on tap which he tested numerous times over the weekend to ensure the quality was maintained!
The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We ate in one evening and the food was great too.
Internet connectivity is pretty important to us wherever we are. Bryn Tyrch provides free wifi which was enough for hubby to watch Formula One on his iPad but as there was no wifi in our room he had to watch it in reception (on their comfy sofa). In their defence they are making the best of what is available to them in the area. Also there is minimal mobile data coverage although you can make calls. This might be ideal for people who want to get away from it all though.
Overall we all loved Bryn Tyrch and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or stay again.

I enjoyed a lovely relaxing two night stay at the Bryn Tyrch and can really find much fault at all.
The bedroom was very comfy, although the TV mounted almost at ceiling height did make watching it not that enjoyable - but I guess you don't go to a place like this to watch TV.
I could have done with enough hot water to have had a bath one day, so I had to make do with a shower instead. Similarly one morning I fancied a bath, but again no hot water, despite plenty of signs tell me "Caution - Very Hot Water". I guess it was all in the radiators, that were too hot to touch.
The food was excellent, especially the lamb, but I could have done with more veggies to bulk it out as it was a small portion.
All in all a lovely place, with great food and perfectly located, especially if you prefer showering to soaking in a hot bath.

My partner and I were staying for one night and looked for hotels with wifi and this one was recommended. You could only get wifi in the hotel reception and not in the room. The TV in the room only had 3 channels. Apart from that the room was fine and the staff where really friendly and welcoming. We had booked a table for dinner at 1830 and we where seated straight away, the choice of food could have been a little bit more varied as there was no adults chicken option, so my partner had to have a child's portion as she doesn't eat any other meat. When the food came it was worth the wait as it was really nice. The only complaint I have with dinner is that there was 3 dogs in the restaurant while we were eating food. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and would recommend just visiting it for breakfast if you are passing through. Pleasant views, nice quiet location great hospitality.
